From time to time, First in Dallas, operated by TFS LLC, may run giveaways, sweepstakes, or contests (collectively, “Promotions”) for our Dallas-area readers.
These terms govern participation in all Promotions hosted, co-hosted, or mentioned by First in Dallas.
1. Eligibility
Unless otherwise stated:
- Participants must be 18 years or older.
- Must reside in the United States, preferably the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
- Employees, contractors, or immediate family members of TFS LLC are not eligible.
We reserve the right to verify eligibility and disqualify entries that do not meet requirements.
2. Entry Period
Each Promotion will specify a start and end date.
Entries received before or after that period will not be considered.
All deadlines are listed in Central Time (CT).
3. How to Enter
Entry methods may include:
- Subscribing to the First in Dallas newsletter
- Completing an online form or poll
- Tagging or following on social media
- Attending a local event
No purchase is ever required to participate or win.
4. Prizes
Each giveaway will clearly describe:
- The prize offered (e.g., event tickets, gift cards, or partner items)
- The approximate retail value (ARV)
- The number of winners and selection method
Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash unless required by law.
5. Winner Selection and Notification
Winners will be chosen at random or as stated in the Promotion rules.
We will contact winners via:
- Email from insider@firstindallas.com, or
- Social media direct message (if applicable).
If a winner fails to respond within 72 hours, we reserve the right to select an alternate winner.
6. Taxes and Legal Responsibility
Winners are responsible for any federal, state, or local taxes associated with prizes.
TFS LLC assumes no liability for lost, stolen, or unclaimed prizes once awarded.
7. Rights Granted by Participants
By entering, participants:
- Grant First in Dallas permission to use their name, photo, and entry submission for promotional purposes without further compensation.
- Agree that their entry may be published or featured on our website or newsletter.

8. Disqualification
Entries may be disqualified if they:
- Contain inappropriate or offensive material
- Violate platform rules or laws
- Are automated or fraudulent
We reserve the right to cancel or modify any Promotion at any time for any reason.
9. Limitation of Liability
By participating, entrants agree to release TFS LLC, its employees, partners, and affiliates from any claim, loss, or damage arising from participation in a Promotion or acceptance of any prize.
10. Sponsor Identification
When a Promotion is sponsored by a partner (e.g., local business or AdQuire offer), that relationship will be clearly disclosed.
The partner is solely responsible for prize fulfillment and conditions.
