What just opened in Dallas?
Dallas restaurant news moves fast, but this week felt like a sprint. Two big-name pizza players arrived almost back to back, plus a few other concepts worth a look. First reported by CultureMap Dallas, here’s what matters for your Dallas plans.
Pizzana expands to Preston Forest
West Coast favorite Pizzana is now serving in the Preston Forest Shopping Center, giving North Dallas a second crack at the brand after its small Knox Street shop filled up quick. The pies lean neo-Neapolitan with a long-fermented dough that bakes up crisp at the edges and tender in the middle. If you’re the “peppery pasta on a pie” type, the cacio e pepe pizza is the move. For neighbors in Preston Hollow and Northwood Hills, this is an easy weeknight option without the Knox parking headache.
Prince Street Pizza hits Henderson Avenue
New York’s cult slice shop Prince Street Pizza has opened at 2820 N. Henderson Avenue, taking over the former Fireside Pies space. Expect those thick, focaccia-like Sicilian squares by the slice, including the famed Spicy Spring with cup-and-char pepperoni. Henderson regulars now have a late-night slice spot again, and it plugs nicely into a bar hop with nearby staples on Lowest Greenville and Knox.
More fresh doors to try
Not everything this week is dough and cheese. Patrick Colombo’s Restaurant Works introduced Centralé Italia in Preston Hollow Village, promising wood-fired plates, pastas, gelato, and what they call “Neo-Neapolitan” pies. If you’ve dined at Princi Italia, think of Centralé as the more pizza-forward sibling; the group’s background is detailed on Restaurant Works. Over on Greenville Avenue, longtime local burger standby Jake’s added a new location, keeping those poppyseed buns and schooner beers in rotation. And in Las Colinas, Vancouver import The Tavern Collective debuted inside the Sandman Signature with pub fare, cocktails, and a little arcade energy for pre-Stars-game hangs.
Planning your first bite
Here’s how we’d play it this weekend: early dinner at Pizzana for a Margherita and a salad, then a Henderson stroll for a spicy Sicilian square at Prince Street. If you’re headed to a show in Deep Ellum or Uptown, swap in a quick Jake’s stop on Greenville for burgers and cold schooners, or meet friends in Las Colinas to pregame at the new Tavern Collective before a concert. However you slice it, Dallas just got tastier.
